Secretary Hammond honors domestic businesses that have been on file with the Office 100+ years.

(COLUMBIA, SC) - Today Secretary of State Mark Hammond officially recognized Seibels, Bruce & Company, now known simply as “Seibels,” as a South Carolina Centennial Business. This honor is reserved for domestic business entities that have been on file with the Secretary of State’s Office for 100 years or more.

Secretary Hammond honored Seibels at its headquarters in Columbia, South Carolina. “The name Seibels is synonymous with the early days of Columbia as a business center,” said Secretary Hammond. “I’m happy to acknowledge Seibels’ innovation in our Great State, and to recognize it as a South Carolina Centennial Business.” 

Although Seibels traces its origins to 1869, it incorporated with the Secretary of State’s Office on February 6, 1908. Seibels’ mission is to achieve profitable growth by providing best-in-class insurance services and leading technology to the Property and Casualty insurance industry. Seibels is also committed to benefiting philanthropic causes through its Charitable Giving Program. As the oldest business enterprise still operating within the capital city, Seibels is an iconic presence in South Carolina’s business community.
