The Official Web Site of the State of South Carolina

Did you know that as of January 1, 2024, the Corporate Transparency Act enacted by Congress requires many companies to report beneficial ownership information to the US Treasury Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN)? Beneficial ownership information (BOI), as defined by FinCEN, is identifying information about the individuals who directly or indirectly own or control a company. Please review the BOI links on our website to see if you are required to report to FinCEN.

Thu, 07/20/2023

(Columbia, SC) — This fall, Secretary of State Mark Hammond will be offering seven free regional notary public seminars for South Carolina notaries and those interested in becoming a notary.

South Carolina notaries are public officials who serve as impartial witnesses and protect against fraud. All seminars will begin promptly at 6:00 PM and should conclude by 7:30 PM.  Doors will open at 5:00 PM.

Attendees are welcome to register for and attend any notary seminar convenient to them regardless of their county of residence or the location of the seminar.  If you are unable to attend a seminar in person, please take advantage of the South Carolina Notary Public Reference Manual and the Notary Webinar found on the Notaries page of our website.
